A legend in his own right, Finidi began his tenure at Enyimba FC with an unbeaten run on the Continent in his first season—a campaign tragically cut short by administrative mismanagement. In his second season, he clinched the league title, and before long, ascended to the helm of the Super Eagles. Today however, the focus shifts to the legacy he left behind—the emergence of a young, dynamic coach with a burning desire to succeed: Yemi Olarenwaju Daniel, popularly known as Yema “Star Coach.” Yema’s journey from the assistant coach at the now-defunct MFM FC, under Tony Bulus, and the Golden Eaglets, with Nduka Ugbade, to Vandrezzer FC, and finally to Enyimba FC, is a testament to his ambitions and relentless drive.
Yema is a coach who thrives on youth and daring talent. His tactical evolution alongside Finidi saw Enyimba transition from the experienced midfield pairing of Chibuike Nwaiwu and Ikenna Cooper to the younger, more energetic duo of Eze Ekwutoziam and Daniel Daga, the latter arriving on loan from FC ONE Rockets.
