Remember that jingle from back in the day—the one that hyped up our CAF Champions League games and rallied the fans to flood the stadium? There was a line that always stuck with me:

Oh, those were the glory days when we thrashed Bakili Bullets like they were nothing. But hey, that was then, and today’s a whole new chapter.
Today, we believe the skies will be kind to us. The weather man predicts thundershowers in Aba and some morning rain in Uyo, but by 4 pm, the skies should clear up just in time for our all-important clash against Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou.
So far this season, we’re unbeaten in all competitions, but we’re about to enter a tough stretch. Get this: five matches in 15 days! Starting today with Etoile Filante at 4 pm, then we’ve got Lobi Stars on Wednesday, followed by Finidi George’s Rivers United next weekend. After that, we face Akwa United on the 2nd of October and finish the run with Katsina United in Aba. I mean, who made this fixture list? Not easy, but hey, we’re Enyimba! One game at a time, and we’ll come out the other side stronger.
The good news? We won’t be racking up frequent flyer miles. We’re just bouncing between Uyo, Aba, and Port Harcourt. It’s tough, no doubt, but that’s why we’re champions. One step, one game, one victory at a time—and by the end of it all, we’ll be smiling.
But back to the present. Today’s all about Etoile Filante. Word on the street is the match will be streamed live on the club’s social media platforms. Fingers crossed we’re not broadcasting any heartbreak! And let’s hope for better picture quality than what we endured in Bamako (seriously, what was that?). Our lads—from Akanni to Ovoke and down to Daga—have been talking the talk. Now it’s time to walk the walk.
