Ahead of the big clash with Shooting Stars in Ibadan, Yemi Olanrewaju says that his side must stick to the game plan if they must come out with a favourable result. He spoke on Saturday about the game.
“It is going to be a tough game. It is arguably the toughest game that we would have played this season because we came here and got the three points and this time round it is going to be tough. We are expecting a tough and difficult game. I have told the boys, they know what is at stake and their minds will be prepared for a tough battle tomorrow.”
Olanrewaju said that he and the boys have already prepared their minds for this game, knowing it would be difficult especially after doing a double over them last season.
“We must stick to our game plan and at the end of the day, we hope to get the job done. That is our target. We know it will be a tough and difficult game, and our mind is prepared already and we hope for a victory.”
On his part, pacy forward, Ifeanyi Ihemekwele who is fast becoming a sensation for the Elephants said the team are in Ibadan for victory. He said he is happy to be part of squad and also modestly acknowledged that he would need to work harder.
“I feel good and I’m very happy being part of the squad. Like the coach says, you have to work hard for you to be in the squad. To him, he thinks I’m better off being in that squad. To me too, I think I need to do more to be above what I’m expecting.”
Ihemekwele, who has two goals already for Enyimba this season said the team has a winning mentality which spurs them on.
“Here in Enyimba, all we talk about is winning. We are not here to take pictures or to see how the state looks like, we are here for winning which the team is ready [for], I too I’m ready to give my best. I will deliver by God’s grace and also do what I know how to do best which is scoring goals.”
Sunday’s game is set to be a thrilling encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Chibueze Izuogu got the winner for Enyimba the last time both sides met in Ibadan.
