Despite failing to secure a win, Enyimba FC coach Yemi Olanrewaju was impressed with the display of his team against Shooting Stars during their goalless draw in Ibadan.

The Peoples’ Elephant maintained their unbeaten record against Shooting Stars, with goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena and skipper Somairi Alalibo instrumental in repelling the Oluyole Warriors’ attacks.

He attributed Enyimba’s success to thorough preparation, stating, “We have game plans for all away games…we try to stay compact and deny them opportunities to create chances.”

Coach Yemi Olanrewaju also dismissed luck as a factor in Enyimba getting a draw in Ibadan. When questioned about Enyimba’s fortunate escape from conceding, Coach Yemi Olanrewaju countered: “I don’t think luck came into play. We carved out more clear-cut chances, whereas Shooting Stars relied heavily on set pieces. Our strategy focused on penetrating their defense and creating scoring opportunities.”

Next up for Enyimba is a clash with Niger Tornadoes.
