Good morning Good fellas
With every passing day, two things become painfully obvious.
1. That our club is currently a very sinking ship.
2. Everyone who loves the club must come to its rescue.
Quickly. Before I go any further, I have to apologize that the past few days have been all sad and gloom here on the blog.
But its not my fault that all has been sad and gloom here on the blog. Our house is on fire and my love for Enyimba cannot let me keep quiet and just pretend like nothing is going on. Speaking with a few other Enyimba lovers, it became clear that there is a consensus about this wrong direction of travel for the club. People know things are wrong but nobody wants to say anything.
Let me wow you with this stat I got from our friends at OptaNGR –
Enyimba FC have been fined a total of 20 million Naira by the league since the beginning of last season (2023/24); at least N5.75m more than any other NPFL club in the same period.
From 2015 till when Anyasi left, Enyimba wasn’t fined up to N1m in total. Total fine was 900k. From when this administration came on board till date, that number has gotten to N20m.
The immediate statement some would pull out in defence of this is that the League Boss doesn’t like Enyimba and views us as a direct rival to his beloved club. It is easy to hide behind that but have we been punished unjustly? For these fines and punishments, haven’t we truly earned them?
We can pull open the books and list what birthed these fines. I’m glad to go one after the other and I can tell you, for most, we literally “gave the referee a decision to make”. Take the infamous tweet last Sunday. Where whoever is behind the official Enyimba handle was accusing the referee and assistant referees of inhibiting our play. No matter what you see in the course of the game, such comments should never come from the club’s official handle. If you do, you are asking for trouble. We did and we got served.
Question is, Do we have an “incompetence” problem or do we blame sheer ignorance? It is one or the other. However they are both correlated. For instance Incompetence is displayed when you hire an unqualified person. Like our “Sporting Director” who doesn’t know a thing about being a sporting director. How do I know this? Your results- Sending your team to travel 3 days on the road to Maidugiri, Quality of recruitment, general welfare of the team etc.
The ignorant person may be forgiven because he genuinely does not know. Like asking some of these folks parading up and down the Enyimba corridors of how the club’s brand can be promoted/protected or how more revenue can come into the club and they go dumb. Either way, both the incompetent and the ignorant will produce mistakes, failures and inefficiency. Doesn’t that sound a lil like this new Enyimba?
In conclusion, I’m not campaigning for people to lose their jobs. My first recommendation is for these folks to submit themselves for training. Dear Enyimba Media team, get on the Twitter/facebook/IG accounts, websites of Professional clubs and learn the decorum with which they communicate. You cannot tweet like you are in a pub arguing about your favorite English Football Club.
As for the rest of the “board”, it’s time to realize that Enyimba is paying you to serve the club and not yourselves. There has to be a vision. A direction that this club should be on courtesy of your leadership. Right now, we see none. You have to step up and don’t think we are going away soon. We will be on this matter until we see significant changes. Party time is over. Right now everyone needs to stand up and do their jobs.
Enyimba is big enough to pay its bills. Enyimba is able to attract investors who will partner with the club to get a proper stadium built. We cannot solely rely on the government. Have you seen where the players live? Wheres the Coach’s office? Does he have one? Enyimba is capable of legitimately employing more than 200 Aba indigenes either permanently or on part time/match day basis. That’s how you give back to the community. Enyimba can create jobs. But that’s when you have sound heads running the show.
One more thing, I truly hope and pray that we have settled the license issue involving newly signed players. I hope so. Someone whispered to me that it hasn’t been done. This is deeply worrying.
Back tomorrow.

I feel your passion for Enyimba whenever I read your posts.
I just pray the board gets things right. The people behind the social media handle must have been called to order by now.
I noticed the unprofessional tweet during the match in Maiduguri. The media of last season wasn’t like this.
Let’s correct our mistakes and move forward
