Enyimba FC, Nigeria’s remaining representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, has been drawn into Group D alongside Egyptian powerhouses Zamalek SC and Al Masry SC, as well as Mozambican debutants Black Bulls. As the most successful Nigerian club in CAF competitions, Enyimba carries the nation’s hopes of ending a nearly two-decade drought without a CAF trophy.

Their impressive past achievements include back-to-back Champions League and Super Cup titles between 2003 and 2005. Enyimba secured their group stage spot after defeating Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante 3-2 in a thrilling penalty shootout.

The clash with Zamalek promises to be particularly intriguing, given Enyimba’s past encounter with the Egyptian giants in 2016, where they suffered losses in both home and away matches. This draw presents Enyimba with an opportunity to reassert their dominance and stake their claim as one of Africa’s top clubs.

Group D Fixtures:

  • Enyimba FC (Nigeria)
  • Zamalek SC (Egypt)
  • Al Masry SC (Egypt)
  • Black Bulls (Mozambique)

To overcome the challenges and bring home Nigeria’s next CAF trophy, Enyimba will need to perform exceptionally well against these tough opponents. The matches are scheduled to take place on November 28th, December 8th, December 15th, January 5th, 2025, January 12th, and January 19th.
