Good morning, Enyimba Nation!

It’s Tuesday again, that day that is almost seen as nothing more than just the day after Monday. Well it always shows up and we should also do likewise, in whatsoever we find our hands to do. Consistency, can be a double-edged sword—sometimes it’s something to celebrate, other times, it leaves you questioning. Week in and week out, every season, we’re either staying steady orwe expect to stay steady in the season’s race to the title, and that’s something to talk about. Consistency.

Our trip to Bayelsa over the weekend was another chapter in our journey. Since the revamp of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, it’s a place we look forward to visiting, and this time we went with a full squad—without worries about license withdrawals to cloud our lineup, though I feel something is brewing somewhere. I won’t let it out for now but if you follow the club diligently, you can insinute where I’m driving at.

Ekene Awazie is fast becoming one of the team’s headline makers. Loved by both Coach Yema and our previous coach Finidi, he’s often had fans curious about what the gaffers see in him. Lately, he has, to an extent, justified the faith, and giving us a much-needed lead in Yenegoa last weekend was one. We’re hoping this form isn’t just a flash in the pan but a new standard he’ll keep building on.

But then there’s a pattern we’d like to break—letting leads slip. Last home match against Ikorodu City, and again on Sunday day against Bayelsa United, we couldn’t quite hold our edge. With Remo Stars and Abia Warriors on the horizon, both known for their attacking strength, Yema and the boys need to get this under control. Perhaps this game can serve as a reminder to tighten up, especially with continental fixtures soon to begin.

Speaking of which, Sunday’s match had its own moment of drama. After a Bayelsa United defender misplayed the ball back into his own net, we thought we had the lead again, but the referee waved it off. Calls like these are tough to swallow, especially when they tip the scales. Match officials have a challenging job, no doubt, and while we’ve seen improvements, these critical moments can’t keep landing on the wrong side.

While VAR might be an ideal fix, there are bigger broadcast concerns that need attention. Over the weekend, not a single NPFL game was available for fans outside the stadium. Even with two broadcast partners—Propel Sports Africa and StarTimes—Propel is on a “system fix” break, and StarTimes has a contractual dispute with the NPFL board. If fans can’t watch the games, how do we expect support to grow? We need to bring back those live broadcasts if we want this league to reach its potential!

So here’s to making the right kind of consistency count. Let’s demand better coverage, celebrate our wins, and push for our team to stay strong on all fronts.

On a sad note, our hearts go out to our team manager, Okey Nwabekee, who lost his wife recently in an unfortunate incident. Condolences.

Here’s to doing good things consistently, guys!

Enyimba Enyi!
