That jingle still plays on a loop in my head every sanitation day. So, in the spirit of keeping things clean, let’s tidy up our thoughts on the blog today as we gear up for a blockbuster weekend.
First off, a feel-good moment from Wednesday’s win over Lobi Stars. Sir Mayor, the living embodiment of the Enyimba spirit, was honoured by none other than Eze “Pinto” Ekwutoziem. Pinto, who’s been with us since forever, couldn’t help but appreciate the dedication of Sir Mayor, gifting him a jersey before the game. It’s only fitting—Sir Mayor’s matchday outfits are a full-blown vibe. These are the fans who practically scream, “It’s game day!” just by showing up. And for them, a win is non-negotiable. Anything less? Utter frustration.
Now, as we look ahead to Super Sunday, we’re up against some familiar faces in a very familiar place—Port Harcourt, where we’ll face our old boss, Finidi George, and his Rivers United side. Port Harcourt victories have been few and far between since Rivers United rebranded, but don’t let that shake your faith! Remember, every new day starts a fresh chapter, and Yema is ready to write his own against the man who once led us.
